Let's first talk about what are croissants.
A crossiant is a buttery,flaky,crescent-shaped French pastry made frm laminated yeast dough.
The crossiant's history can be traced back to the kipferl(a creasent-shaped pastery that has been made in Austria since at least the 13th century.) A popular legend suggests that the kipfrel was create to clebrate the defeat of the Ottoman Empire during the Battle of Vienna in 1683,symbolizing vicory with its creasent shape,reminiscent of the Ottoman flag.
